SRINAGAR, MAY 25 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired the 109th High Level Committee (HLC) meeting of LAWDA regarding capping of plots and cash compensation to Dal dwellers. The meeting was informed that plots and cash compensation will be provided to the Dal dwellers against their structures to be removed under the Dal Development and Lakes & Waterways Development programmes.

It was said the areas whose dwellers will be compensated include Dole DembKarpora, Abi Nowpora, Karpora Dole Demb, Dole DembAsthal, Sheikh Mohalla Nandpora, Khachroo Mohalla Nandpora, Kaloo Mohalla Nandpora, Latti Mohalla Nandpora, Sheikh Mohalla Tangkhan, Akhoon Mohalla Takiya Lal Shah Nandpora, Moti Mohalla Nandpora, Kooli Mohalla, Chinga Mohalla, Akhoon Mohalla Tak Nandpora, RooniMohalla, BhatporaKarpora, Baba Mohalla Karpora, Abi Nowpora, Kand Mohalla Nandpora, BataporaKarporaand and Karpora-Batpora.

The meeting was also informed that 3100 plots have been developed at Rakh-i-Arth Bemina of which 2200 plots measuring 7 marlas each have already been allotted to Dal dwellers, adding the colony has sewerage, drainage, electricity, water supply, blacktopped roads amongst other facilities therein. It was said some 750 pacca and kacha structures have been constructed there so far. It was said the plots have been capped as per the requirements and convenience of the people shifted there from Dal areas and that these and cash compensation were given to families after proper field verifications, submission of Aadhaar cards and other requisite formalities.

Various cases regarding allotment of plots and cash compensation to Dal dwellers for their rehabilitation at Rakhi-i-Arth were also approved in the meeting. The Div Com directed the LAWDA to immediately demolish those structures in the Dal vicinity whose owners have already received compensation. He impressed upon the concerned authorities to speed up the rehabilitation process and clear all pending cases forthwith so that the pristine glory of Dal Lake can be revived. Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, VC LAWDA, Secretary LAWDA, Collector LAWDA, VC SDA, Executive Engineer UEED, Joint Commissioner SMC, Executive engineer LAWDA, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
